Jhpiego is implementing a number of projects in Tanzania and wishes to recruit the following positions:
Position: Senior Technical Officer- Maternal and Child Nutrition- [1 position based in Mwanza]
Position Overview:
The Senior TO-Maternal and child Nutrition will provide technical support in the execution and monitoring of USAID Boresha Afya nutrition interventions across maternal and child health programs. In liaison with the Regional Program Managers and Coordinators, s/he will coordinate the implementation of nutrition activities in various project-supported regions which entail planning, implementation oversight, monitoring, and reporting. The Senior Technical Officer will work closely with other project technical teams and R/CHMTs to ensure delivery of quality Maternal, New-born, Child Adolescent health services at health facilities, while linking with facility and community-based nutrition interventions

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nutrition, public health or other related disciplines
- At least 3 years hands-on experience in nutrition programming
- Demonstrated understanding of IYCF, NACS, Management of Acute Malnutrition, and growth monitoring. Proficiency with SMART is an added advantage
- Demonstrated experience in capacity building, planning, project implementation and monitoring.
- Experience in working with and coordinating with the LGAs and other stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Kiswahili
- Ability to multi-task, to handle pressure, and positive flexibility
- Proven experience in the writing of abstracts and reports
- Computer literacy, particularly in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Availability and willingness to travel up to 40% of the time
