The Volunteer’s Role
This placement will support the efforts aimed at strengthening the capacity of the AGAPE AIDS CONTROL PROGRAM (AACP) in the area of Information Tecnology. The IT specialist will help the organization to develop good approaches to integrate IT into project activities, ensuring systems are consistently used and implemented an individual who has a passion for making a difference in the lives of people.
The IT advisor will support the development of IT plan to integrate the IT in the implementation of AGAPEs strategic plan. In that perspective, the advisor will identify gaps and share knowledge about good practices that could help to promote AGAPEs mission, vision, values and strategic priorities within and outside the organization.
As a volunteer, you will:
-Identify needs and opportunities across the project’s technical components to be addressed through ICT solutions
-Develop approaches to integrate ICT into project activities, ensuring systems are consistently used and implemented
-Design and implement technology-enabled programming based on established ICT standards and procedures
-Build capacity of staff, partners, and grantees to use ICT tools to achieve project objectives

Essential Academic Qualifications:
Advanced degree in computer science or a related field preferred
Minimum of 3 – 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in applying technology to international development, education, or organizational development
Essential Professional Background:
Experience working with technology vendors and consultants
Experience designing and implementing databases and mobile technology preferred
Experience working on international donor-funded projects strongly preferred

Cuso International assessment day (Candidates must cover the first $200 of the most cost-effective travel expenses and all accommodation costs).
Travel and accommodation for the five-day pre-departure training course and for in-country orientation
Bonus: Additional return flight home or cash in lieu after 12 months of service for volunteers who extend for another 6 months
