Post: Accountant Intern
Work Type: Full time 3 months (Full-time job opportunity after internship period)
Years of Experience: 1+ relevant experience in Assistant Accountant’s role
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce / Finance / Accounting or equivalent professional training
We seek to meet qualified candidates who can intern with our team in the position of Audit Intern with a Full-time job opportunity after internship period.
The Intern will work closely with the Audit Associates to implement on our audit and book-keeping projects for clients. This will for a period of 3 months, and will be based in our Dar es Salaam offices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
i/ To take a role in the Audit as a professional team member to perform in simple part of the financial statement
ii/ To prepare financial statement reports and documentation supporting the auditor’s opinions;
iii/ To perform analytical review of audit documents, identifying accounting and auditing issues, performing assigned testing and self-review of work product.
iv/ To draft correspondences and manage all matters for clients’ projects assigned.
v/ Develop an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
vi/ Performs additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the management

Other requirements include:
a. Must be proficient with English and Swahili languages in both spoken and written.
b. MS Office, specifically MS Excel and Tally knowledge compulsory, MYOB preferable
c. Vast knowledge of international accounting standards is compulsory
d. Working experience in an accounting role or work experience in a “Big 4” Audit firm is preferable.
e. Experience working with local government and regulatory authorities in Tanzania;
f. Mature person with excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills; problem solving skills, teamwork skills, analytical skills and multi-tasking skills.
g. Ability to gather, evaluate and present information effectively to seniors;
h. Strong written and oral presentation skills;
i. Ability to think conceptually and deal decisively with practical matters in a proactive manner that reduces financial risk to the organization;
j. Proven ability and willingness to work independently, prioritize and hold oneself accountable;
k. Work Conditions/Environment Conditions: Willingness to work additional hours during critical reporting periods.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
