(MUHAS) in Dares-Salaam, Tanzania. The programme conducts biomedical
research, support health care,
advocacy and training. The Sickle cell Programme has an employment opportunity for highly

Sickle Cell programme is looking for a qualified Individual to fill the post of Interim
Programme Coordinator for a period of (December 2018 – March 2019). The Programme
Coordinator will report to Principal Investigator.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides strategic leadership to the program with top level management oversight to
ensure that the program is continuously up to date in the research, clinical and
operational directions, good program efficiency and high quality delivery. - Establishing and maintaining efficient and effective system for program operations;
ensure that all contractual and agreement deadline are met and targets are achieved; - Providing the vision, leadership and management oversight for Sickle Cell Programme
as well as overall supervision, administration and implementation of the cooperative
agreement. - Developing and maintaining working relationships with stakeholders and partners;
- Ensuring that Sickle Cell program staff and key partners have a common
understanding of the goals and objectives of the program, and their roles within the
Partnership; - Reviewing and approving project documentation for dissemination;
- Ensuring program quality according to international, MUHAS and funding agency
standards; - Ensuring effective monitoring framework and plans are in place to enhance the
achievement of program goals and results; - Providing direction in the development of annual work plans ensuring that they
comply with the most recent scientific and management developments; - Supporting the program team in writing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
including reviewing and approving reports;

salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, terminations and disciplinary actions; - Develop Fund raising strategy and actual fund raising activities;
- Overseeing information dissemination regarding the programs as appropriate;
- Maintaining excellent client relationships and partnerships with funders, key
Government of Tanzania department and Ministries - Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor degree in Health Related Sciences
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Project Management or equivalent is an added
advantage. - Must possess excellent understanding of program design, development and fiscal
management - At least three (3) years working experience with donor funded health related programs
is required. - Working in clinical setting is an added advantage
- Must be able to work closely with diverse populations (various racial/ethnic,
socioeconomic and educational backgrounds) - Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication skills including
presentation skills for small and large groups.
