T-MARC
Tanzania is a non-profit Tanzanian organization working to improve
public health and promote social development. Our socially marketed
products and behaviour change communication initiatives address
pertinent health issues in family planning and reproductive health,
child survival, water and sanitation, nutrition and
communicable/non-communicable infections like malaria, HIV/AIDS and
cervical cancer.T-MARC has received grant from Comic Relief for the project titled “Badilisha Tabia, Tokomeza Malaria (Change Behavior, Eradicate Malaria)” for two years. The Project The project will use a mix of SBCC approaches (IPC, Community Mobilization, Community Media etc.) to engage communities on malaria prevention and treatment towards positive health-seeking behaviours among pregnant women, lactating mothers and children under 5 in Shinyanga and Simiyu regions.
In line with the Malaria National Strategic Plan (MNSP) 2014-2020, the goal of this project is to contribute to the national goal of reducing the country’s malaria prevalence from 7.3% in 2017 to < 1% in 2020.
T-MARC invite the qualified applicants for the following below positions:
Position: Field Coordinator (2)
Reports to: Project Manager
Location: Shinyanga (1), Simiyu (1)
Broad Function:
The incumbent will work with Local Government authorities, Civil Society Organization (CSOs) and Community based implementing partners and Community Health Workers (CHWs) to implement SBCC strategies in line with Malaria National Strategic Plan (MNSP) 2014-2020 and training materials that promote sustainable health seeking behaviors for the project. The incumbent will assist the implementation of SBCC interventions in order to improve positive health seeking practices through innovative SBCC strategies that sustainably bring about positive behaviour change.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor degree in health communications, sociology, public health, social sciences, international development, or a related field with A minimum of 2 years’ experience in; coordination and management of similar projects; Public health education and behavioral change communication; Proven experience in implementing behavioral change communication projects, focusing on creating demand for community and facility-based health services and Proven experience in implementing at least two health projects that include a strong behavior change communication component.
