III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.
Manage and monitor the performance of the IOM trucks/vehicles to
achieve the maximum utilization, trucks/vehicles routing and scheduling
for timely deliveries of returnees meeting the operational needs.
2.
Oversee and advise on the implementation and up-hold of preventive and
curative maintenance of vehicles/trucks with accordance to IOM Standard
Operating Procedures.
3. Communicate with the drivers’ service
provider in terms of; recruiting and terminating drivers, verifying the
driver’s attendance and monitoring the attendance sheets, monitor the
contract duration for each driver, confirm the monthly invoices are
correct, and monitor the drivers’ behaviour and take disciplinary
measures when required,
4. Verify that all reports and information as required by the Organization are produced promptly on a timely basis
5. Be responsible for organizing and coordinating the preparation and the transfer of vehicles/trucks from point to point.
6. Oversee the workshop staff to ensure that all repairs and
maintenance performed to the vehicles/trucks and machineries are in
accordance to the required standards established to achieve maximum
reliability with minimum downtime.
7. Provide assistance to
logistics department concerning the purchase and the transportation of
fuel. Monitoring controlling the fuel consumption rate.
8. Provide
assistance to logistics and procurement department concerning the
purchase of spare parts and be responsible for the stocking and the
controlling of the spare parts consumption.
9. Establish the
necessary resources to match the overall operational requirements and
monitor trends upwards or downwards and adjust resources accordingly to
match these operational needs as well as ensuring that all fleet staff
carries-out their duties in accordance to their job description set.
10.
Continuously collect and collate valuable data or information relating
to improvements required for standardization and development purposes
for Fleet Management and communicate this information to other staff in
the Fleet Section ensuring the drivers of the trucks/vehicles are
utilizing these assets within the IOM standard rules and regulations and
are complying to the instructions of the convoy leaders during the
operation;, Verify that
the logbook is properly maintained in each truck/vehicle.
11. Maintain a periodic evaluation to the drivers and present
recommendations to the Logistics Procurement Officer as well as
reporting all accidents and/or potential hazards to the Logistics /
Procurement Officer in Kasulu.
12.
Implement best practices established and ensure that performances of
fleet management are within the parameter set by taking monthly site
visits to the field offices where the fleet is concentrated/operated.
13.
Forwards maintenance data, spare parts requests, and other information
as directed by IOM maintenance procedures to Logistics / Procurement
Dept.
14. Report to and advise the Logistics / Procurement Officer on all pertinent matters.
15. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

V. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Completed university degree from an accredited academic institution, preferably in development studies or international relations with at least three years of relevant work experience or;
• Completed high school degree with a minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
• Computer Literacy in Windows
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office application package
VI. LANGUAGES
Required
• Knowledge of both languages English and Kiswahili is required
